The young man gasped for air. Being hit my a shaman's spell was a very "breath-taking" task it seemed (literally). Franz was gasping like someone strong had smashed him hard, on the stomach, completely knocking him out of breath.
It took almost two minutes for the young knight to recover. He was furious and Knoll and at himself for allowing him to behave to unprofessionally. If the Lord found out...Franz pushed the thought out of his mind. It was only a little spar, no need to inform the others. Standing up Franz brushed the dirt off his outfit. Knoll was truly someone to be avoided, if necessary, alert the others about the new spell he had acquired.
Franz wasn't about to let that get in the way of him continuing the rest of the day. He walked back to his house and sat himself down on the wooden stool used for dining. He was supposedly to share this place with Forde, but since he was out most of the time General Seth had given the house to himself (although nobody had really informed Forde and he visited often saying he had nowhere to go). Today was one of those days. Franz found Forde upstairs, sleeping on the bed he had made only this morning. Sighing and closing the door, Franz wondered like he had done so many times before just how Forde got to be good good at being a knight.
Standing in front of the downstairs window, Franz closed his eyes. Life was calm and peaceful, minus the mishap a few moments ago.
And then the strangest feeling overcame the young knight. He felt a surge of pulling, with the addition that his clothing became tighter. Eyes quickly opening Franz looked himself over, worrying for the first time that perhaps Knoll's spell was indeed something to be invest aged and if needed, to remove from himself.
When Franz looked up again, something was strange. Had the window always been this low to the ground? No. Just a few moments ago it was eye length to the young man but now it was obvious that Franz had to bend over to see out of it. Realization came. The spell! The effects obviously matched the name.
The magic was obviously used to change the sizes of items, and in this case humans too. Clearly Knoll had cast some sort of magical power over Franz and now he was growing taller because of it.
Looking around Franz began to panic. How tall was he going to grow? Would it be painful? Or was it just a small height difference that nobody would notice?
