Roy sighed as the folded and slid the letter from his father back into the yellow container it was brought in. Nothing had changed. His father was still sick as ever and had no doctors had been brave enough to stand up to the plate and take a shot to look at the aging ruler. Worry filled the young boy's mind. So much was going on! His father was ill, the attempt to contact Lady Lynis had failed and neither Lugh or Ray, the party's resident magic users had achieved connecting with the long gone spirit of Nils and Ninian, two powerful dragons that had once severed and helped his father. The bother and sister duo where either deceased or vanished. Roy had heard from Lord Hector, a friend of his father's, that dragon spirits do not die and fade out. When dragons die their spirits where released back to their land to wander. Sort of like a dragon heaven.
Closing his eyes, Roy wished that his friends where here to support him. Unfortunately most of the party had been sent to suppress a bandit raid in a nearby village, leaving only several people of interest, none of them who Roy wanted to see at the moment.
Closing the unusually large box Lord Eliwood had sent his message in, Roy peered out of the small window of his room, or rather his hut as the remaining members of the party had had taken residence in the small village of Napalm. He wished Marcus has here to help him on his lessons, but he too had been sent out on the attack against the bandits.
Roy's mind wandered back to the yellow box in which his father had used to carry the sole letter. Eliwood was never one to waste material, so the strange large item had confused Roy when he had opened it. Why was it so empty?
Suddenly a thought dawned on Roy. The letter probably wasn't the only thing hidden in the yellow box. There must have been something else in there, hidden away so bandits would not be able to steal and pilfer it away. Quickly the young boy once again took the lid off the box and peered inside. There was the letter and a yellow silk covering for it. And off to the side was...
Wait! What was that? Roy's keen eyes latched themselves onto a small brown string near the left hand-side. Reaching a hand him, the young lord pulled the object to reveal...
