Prying Eyes...

Maria awakened three hours later, and 200 pounds heavier.

"Oh, my..." she said, absentmindedly, as she poked and prodded her new flesh. "These are such odd flowers."

She inhaled their sweet scent. "They're beautiful, though..."

"That they are, vixen..." a voice came from the forest beyond the clearing. "That they are."

Maria froze; she was not alone...

"What's wrong, vixen? Are you afraid? Do you think I'm going to eat you?"

Maria stared into the woods where the voice was coming from.

It laughed. "Well, I suppose you'll find out what I'll do when I get over there, won't you?"

The fat orange vixen quivered; the voice was quite unsettling. Whatever it was, its intent was not good...

"My, you're a fat one... You like your food, don't you?"

"It... It's the flowers..." Maria answered.

"It speaks!"

Maria flinched.

"Don't worry... I'm coming."

Maria knew she should run, but fear froze her in place...

Something emerged from the trees, approaching Maria...
