You gobble your pie up, considering possibilities as the waitress finally chats herself out and attends another customer.
It's hard to escape the most obvious course of action: the babysitter's a sitting duck, with no parents to protect her. And her cramming for exams is an excellent distraction. Which assumes she's really studying as hard as the waitress suggested. Given what little you know of her work ethic, you'll take it as a given.
If you're able to nab Elizabeth at home, you won't need to worry about establishing a hideout more reminiscent of "the old days." Before getting busted, you could have fitted out an entire warehouse for tormenting the brats. Now that you're of slender means, you'll need to be more creative. Better the babysitter's place than your current flop.
Still...
"Too much advantage, all around" you mutter to yourself. It's true. You don't want to leave Elizabeth in familiar surroundings. If she's going to be bait for the rest of the annoying mites, it would be wise to keep all concerned off balance.
In any case, you'll need time. You're broke. The majority of your old underworld contacts are either in jail or working on their own trifling criminal enterprises. It's only been a year since your spectacular reversal, and the stench of defeat lingers over you. On the other hand, you have to constantly remind yourself how much worse it could have been; if the 'powers that be' had been privy to the extent of your operations before you got sent, you'd still be peeling layers in Red Onion.
Back to basics. You're streetwise, and you can hack. You didn't get rusty in the joint, the ability to secretly communicate out of the medium security prison having been in great demand. Pull some capers online, and you'll get the income rolling.
The trouble is, you don't have the money to get the computer to get more money. It's a Catch-22. You could go out to the airport and prowl until an unattended laptop presented itself, but it would be incredibly embarrassing to get collared again so soon. And for petty theft!
