Chapter #3

Excella Gionne

    by: Vlard Author IconMail Icon
“Everybody out,”

The entire Tricell research team simultaneously stopped what they were doing to face the captivating form of their boss - Excella Gionne - standing the doorway of the main lab. Lately, she’d seemed a bit more annoyed than usual, but now she looked just a few steps shy of exploding with her jaw clenched, her brow furrowed, and her eyes practically searing holes into everyone in the room. Despite being a slender unimposing woman, her scowl froze the blood running in their veins and stilled their hearts.

Five seconds passed before Excella punctuated her sentence with “NOW!”

“M-Ms. Gionne,” A single scientist – brave enough to speak, but extremely cautious about choosing his words – addressed. “We’re…actually in the middle of Plagas research right now…”

“Not anymore,” Excella interrupted. “You are all relieved for the rest of the day. Go.”

“But-“

Excella groaned audibly. “You’ll still get paid for the rest of the day.” She said. “Now leave!”

“Ma’am, we’re on the verge of a major breakthrough right now.” The scientist continued; sounding a bit agitated. “If we stop now, we may never-“

“If you don’t shut up and leave right now, your leave will be permanent.” Excella shouted over the scientist. She shot glares across the room. “That goes for all of you! Why aren’t any of you moving? If you want to look at the Plagas so bad, maybe I should release it here so you can all get a better view.”

As Excella lifted her left arm to reveal a large metal suitcase griped tightly in her hand, everybody practically fell over in their seats in fear.

The color drained out of the scientist’s face. “Are you crazy? D…do you have any idea what that-”

“GO!”

The lab emptied almost instantly. Every last scientist dropped pencils, chairs, and research binders as they all rushed for the door; making sure to step gingerly pass Excella so as to not disturb her, or the dormant, yet deadly, Plagas dangling in her hand. As soon the last scientist turned the corner at the end of the hall, Excella made her way into the lab, sat at the main computer, and pulled up a folder simply labeled: UROBOROS. She navigated through the folder until she found a file containing the genetic data of the few subjects deemed compatible with the Uroborus virus. Excella stared at the file for a long time; not actually reading it, but just to delay what would come next. She didn’t want to know, but she had to be sure. Just to put her suspicions to rest.

As the genetic analyzer next to the computer booted up, Excella pulled a single hair out of her chignon bun, and fed it into the machine. She then sat down to longest five minutes of her life as the computer compared her DNA with the test subject’s. Her heart pounded against her chest, and her breathing got heavier as she watched the computer’s green progress bar inch closer and closer to the end of the window anxiously. When the computer finished its evaluation and revealed his finding to her, Excella’s heart stopped battering against her ribcage, and her face took on a frightening shade of crimson.

“INCOMPATIBLE?”

Excella nearly drove her fist through the computer’s monitor in her rage. Instead, she thundered: “Scan it again!”

Another five minutes passed, and then another, then another, but the results were the same each time: Excella’s DNA was incompatible with Uroborous. It was hard for Excella to accept the computer’s judgement, but wasn’t as if she hadn’t suspected the truth before. Otherwise, she wouldn’t even be here.

However, Excella wasn’t about to let genetics get in the way of her destiny. She closed the window showing her test results, and opened the suitcase she’d brought with her. Instead of a vial of dormant Plagas, the suitcase contained vials of PG67A/W: a serum her beloved Albert Wesker used to control the virus inside his body that presented him with amazing powers. She’d studied it extensively to replicate and manufacture an ample supply for her lover, so she figured she could modify it to allow her to control Uroborous, and not let it overwhelm her.

For the rest of the day, Excella remained in the lab – dressed in a hazmat suit one of the scientist left behind - hard at work designing her new virus. It had been a while since she’d actually done any genetic engineering work herself, but the more she worked, the more she recalled. Of course, Excella could have called her research team to come back and make the virus for her in a matter of hours, but she didn’t want anyone learning of her discordance with Uroborus; especially Wesker. She knew of course that Wesker would love her whether she was worthy of Uroburous or not, but she preferred to be a Queen he could take pride in.

When it came time to administer a bonding agent for the two viruses, something occurred to Excella. Perhaps she could use another virus to help control, maybe even enhance the effects Uroborus. The lab had a sample of every known variation of the Progenitor virus available to her. There was - of course - a very large possibility that something could go wrong, and she could possibly mutate into some horrible creature. However, she was positive that, with the antibodies Wesker had developed from that woman he captured, she could neutralize any ill effects.

But which virus would she use?

You have the following choices:

2. T-Veronica

3. Nothing. Better safe than sorry

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
