This choice: Mew tries to teleport them away, but something goes wrong. • Go Back...Chapter #4Botched Teleportation by: Ctbro "Go Where? Why?" Damon asked aloud as he clutched Osmium more tightly. He felt the hair on his partner stiffen, he too was stressed about something.
"There's no time... apparently, I am being hunted.
"Hunted?" Damon asked. A chill ran down his spine as the distinct sound of howling came from just outside his family home. His heart began to pound in his chest. Something about the howling seemed vicious, evil.
Damon rushed past the Mew, to his window. Just outside, he saw a pack of large dark-colored pokemon. One appeared to be a Mightyena, but it seemed different, as if the dark-type hound had another evolution. Though all of the hounds had glowing red eyes, and purple sparks of energy danced around them. "What are those?"
"Bad news if we don't leave now... Just being around them is making my psychic powers weaker." The mew answered. She was not longer hovering, but standing on her two feet in the center of his bedroom.
A crash from downstairs alerted the three of them that the hounds had entered.
"We're leaving now!" The mew tapped Damon's chest with its tail, and instantly pain racked his body.
He cried out, but no sound left his throat. His room was still in his sight, but it was distorted. Another room seemed to be superimposed over it. Tall stone columns, ornate rugs, a large pillow. It was difficult to make out details. And the pain coursing through his body made it impossible to focus. He felt like he was in both places at once, but also nowhere at all.
The only thing he could feel, besides the pain, was Osmium. He held onto his friend and partner tightly. Damon sensed the same pain though his partner. Through Osmium, he felt his own body holding his partner tightly. Their own senses were blending, as if their bodies were superimposed over each other's.
All at once, the tortuous experience ended. Damon's mind reeled as images of his bedroom and that other place, Mew's home, spun within his mind. Phantom pain began to subside. He breathed in the cold air, in short, difficult gasps.
Strangely, he felt his ears perk up at the sound of another breathing with difficulty. His foggy brain struggled to understand why his ears had moved to better hear the sound. His ears could not move. They were fixed to the side of his head. Or, they should have been. It felt like his ears were higher, near the top of his head.
That was not the only weird sensation. His tongue lulled to the side of his mouth, which seemed to have been elongated. Both elongated. His tongue tasted fuzz as it touched his cheek. "Wh-Wha?" He tried to say aloud, but it was difficult to form words with his changed mouth.
"Da...mon..." Someone or something spoke from beside him.
Damon's ears perked again. This time, he glanced toward his left to see something he was not expecting at all. The thing, that was all too close, stared at him with human-like eyes but with an unusual red iris color. It resembled a Riolu with some blue fuzz growing on its face, and black fuzz around its eyes. But, the thing also looked kind of human. "Os...mi...um..." Damon tried to say his partner's name aloud, and the ears of the creature perked like his own.
Damon's mouth dropped open as he stared into the eyes of his changed friend. Slowly his gaze shifted away from Osmium and looked forward. He regretted doing so immediately. He and Osmium had become something not human or pokemon, becomming some cross between the two. Lying on the ground was a single, unusual body. A single body that he and Osmium clearly shared.
Damon stared hard at what he saw. One body. One merged body. He raised the right paw-hand into his view, seemingly at the same time that Osmium raised the left paw-hand. Damon realized that it was not just one body they shared. It was split between them. He stared at Osmium left-paw hand, shocked that he had no sensation of it. "Wh-what happened to us?" Damon asked aloud. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
