This choice: Go back outside to the pool • Go Back...
Chapter #7
Back by the swimming pool
by: Unknown
Even with the tired stereotype of girls spending forever in the bathroom, you're uncomfortable lingering too long among all these natural-born women lest they smell a rat and figure out who's actually looking out from behind Jenna's eyes. Trying to act as naturally as possible, you creep back out of the bathroom and to the swimming pool. The thought crosses your mind that you could give Jared the slip and hightail it out of there, but Jared spots you the moment you walk out of the bathroom, and is heading over like he's about to swoop you off your feet and hoist you on top of a white stallion.
"Hey Jenna!" he says. "Feeling better now?"
"Yeah..." you say slowly. "Although I think the sun is starting to get to me a little bit. I might want to get out of here in a little bit."
"That's okay!" he says, rolling with the punches, not looking the slightest bit disappointed or surprised. "Yeah. Let me just call my mom and we can go back to my house, maybe, hang out a little bit."
"Uh... sure..." you say, not sure whether it would be polite to turn him down, since you have no idea what other options you have besides entrusting yourself to this over-eager grade-school Romeo. Apparently, Jared wasn't expecting you to say yes to going back to his house, because his bashful grin turns into outright beaming, and he's off to one of the lawn chairs to grab his cell phone and call his mom, leaving you momentarily to collect yourself and assess the situation before you get too deep into anything you don't want to be in.
