Her chance to shine!

"I am going to capture Peach again. However...we will take longer to prepare for Mario's 'rescue'."
The children were a little confused and looked at each other before turning back to their parent.
Bowser continued. "Yes. It will take weeks instead of days before the day we strike. We have made the defences against him too light. We must make it more than a chore for him. The ships shall be more armed, the castles will be taller, and the fields covered in spinies."
Ludwig steps forward. "So we all guard castles as usual."
"Yes, but we shall wear him down more. You will all be in pairs to do the job."
The children were in awe at this plan.
Ludwig asks, "So who's with Junior?"
"Huh?"
"There's seven of us. Who's with Junior, and where is he?"
"Oh, he's lifting weights in his room to prepare. And I guess, umm...Wendy is gonna share an Airship with Junior."
The brothers look at Wendy in surprise. Most of them turn in jealousy, except for the confused Ludwig and Iggy. Wendy is pleasantly surprised at this announcement, believing that by taking Mario down by herself, she would earn the highest regard from her Daddy. They look back at their father in attention.
As their father continues, Ludwig hears a faint, foreign sound coming from Wendy's shell. Tiny gurgles bubbling build up into a chorus inside of her, then distort into short "bwas" followed by crackling pops. He stares in confusion as the sound continues.
Wendy, however, is oblivious to these sounds, and notices Ludwig staring at her stomach. She responds with a confused and disgusted look, and a kick to his cheek.
