Chie Santonaka had risked much by revealing her feelings to her best friend Yukiko Amagi shortly after Souji left Inaba, the silver haired young man's courage and honesty leaving a deep impression on Chie and making her realize just how much she truly felt for Yukiko.
Luckily for Chie Yukiko returned Chie's affections and the two transitioned from best friends to lovers.
Of course their parents, especially Yukiko's, weren't so accepting at first. But eventually with the help of their friends, Dojima, and Teddie, the two young women were able to be more public about their relationship.
On one fall afternoon Chie was at her usual eatery of choice, Junes, chowing down on her second piece of steak. Yukiko was beside her and Yosuke was on his break, sitting across from the pair with a gleam in his eye.
Swallowing her latest bite, Chie glared at her friend/pain in the rear Yosuke.
"What's that look for?"
"I'm just wondering if you'd like to make a little wager," Yosuke said.
Chie spared a glance at Yukiko. Her girlfriend nodded slightly, intrigued at the possibilities that could arise from whatever Yosuke was planning. Plus she thought Chie was even more adorable when she was getting worked up at Yosuke.
"I can handle whatever it is."
"So you're saying you'd be able to handle not eating steak for two full weeks?"
The kung fu fan's eyes widened for a moment before narrowing once more. Go without steak? Could Bill Gates go without his computer? Could Washington have gone on without his wooden teeth? Shaking her head at her outlandish comparisons, Chie soon nodded.
"Fine, I'll do it. But if I win you have to treat me to a steak buffet here."
"That's only fair. And if I win you have to dress like a girly girl for a whole school day, comprende?"
Chie nodded and the two shook hands.
Yosuke then removed Chie's plate out from under her and the young woman saw red.
Luckily Yukiko could hold her girlfriend back.
"Starting right now, Chie. Good luck!" Yosuke then walked off, a smirk lighting up his face.
Once Chie was sufficiently calmed down, Chie looked at Yukiko.
"We can't eat here anymore, can we?"
Yukiko shook her head.
Chie's shoulders drooped then and her face fell but Yukiko soon lifted it up.
