Stephanie slowly makes her way over to me without once breaking eye contact. Eventually she stops only a few inches from my face. Stephanie simply stares me down for the next few minutes and the hesitation and waiting is making this hell for me. Why doesn’t she just get it over with? What is she waiting for? After a few more minutes of awkward silence Stephanie grabs my hand and puts something into it. I look down to see a key?
I look back at Stephanie but she is already walking away from me. Maria and Melina don’t seem to know what it's about either.
"What was that?" Melina questions as Stephanie sits back down at her desk and puts her feet up on the table.
"I have humiliated every single guy that has come into this company for years now. For the past few years several other Diva's have helped me out but tonight was something different." Stephanie begins.
"Yeah, this prick humiliated you!" Melina isn’t happy as she turns away from me to face Stephanie.
"How often has someone actually had the balls to stand up to us?" Stephanie asks.
"Never!" Melina insists.
"Exactly, you may not like it but he showed a lot of courage by doing what he did." Stephanie replies.
"He made a fool of you!" Melina protests.
"I don’t care and either should you." Stephanie says in a dismissive tone that gets Melina to shut up. Stephanie then turns back to me and speaks again.
"That’s a key to me hotel room. Drop by tonight, you wont regret it." Stephanie says before winking at me.
"Ummm, aren’t you married?" Maria asks.
"Aren’t I your boss?" Stephanie replies as I look at the key in my hand again hardly able to comprehend what is happening.
"I'll see you later tonight?" Stephanie asks.
"Ummm.... Sure." I reply not knowing what else to say but I'm not going to question it right now as I was expecting to be beaten up and fired only five minutes ago. I decide to test it to see if she is serious by turning to leave.
"What the fuck? You're really letting him off with this?!?" Melina is now pissed.
"Yes, he can go if he wishes, I'll be seeing him later anyway." Stephanie replies.
"This is stupid!" Melina yells before storming past me and leaving the office but not before throwing the handcuffs in my face. Maria hesitates but soon follows after Melina.
I quickly leave the office and once again look at the key in my hand. Stephanie McMahon just invited me to her hotel room! Maybe this day will turn out all right after all.
The rest of the day drags in until finally I make my way to the hotel specified. I find the hotel room is up on the 47th floor and the elevator is undergoing maintenance meaning I have to take the stairs. It takes about an hour and I feel like I'm going to die but eventually I reach the 47th floor and before long find the hotel room. I pause for a second before putting the key in and turning it. A little surprisingly it opens straight away. I walk in very slowly before flipping on the light switch and seeing what awaits me.
