Felix took in the sight of the sphinx's back, colored a light sandy yellow. As he watched, the sphinx seemed to notice him, and slowly stood up. He watched as it stood taller and taller, until it looked like it was about fifty feet tall by his guess. The sphinx turned around so it faced Felix, and he could see its full body as it turned. He saw the powerful lion part, with big paws lacking any claws and a long fur-tipped tail that swished back and forth lazily. He followed the lion part from that tail to where the lion's head should be, but there, the fur ended and was replaced by skin. The sphinx's body turned into that of a human, apparently a young girl due to her lack of certain feminine features on her chest. He could tell the sphinx was female mainly due to her face. She had ragged tan hair and freckles, and glowing green eyes, with a single fang jutting from the top of her mouth. Instead of human ears, she had feline, lion ears covered in fur, and a wilted flower held behind one.
The sphinx looked down at Felix as he stared at her with a sort of awe. He'd never seen such a huge creature, and although he hated to admit it, she actually looked a bit pretty to him. But he noticed that her eyes were very sad, and her arms were crossed in front of her stomach; she was shivering, and looked on the verge of tears. Felix couldn't help but feel sad for her, but stopped himself from walking up to her. The guards were still watching, and wouldn't let him do anything but feed the beast and leave.
The sphinx pleaded at him with her eyes, and Felix felt overwhelmingly sad for her. He started stumbling forward, in a trance, and the guards shouted for him to stop. But he wasn't able to hear them, and was lost in the sphinx's green eyes....
Suddenly, the eyes turned red, and the sphinx bared her teeth (which meant little considering they were all human-like except for her two longer fangs). Felix stood still, unable to move, as the sphinx's left hand reached down towards him. He had walked well into her arms' range, and she was easily able to reach him. Her fingers wrapped around him, and he couldn't resist as she lifted him from the ground without any effort, bringing him close to her stomach.
Now that he wasn't looking at her eyes, he suddenly felt able to move. He started struggling, shouting for help and kicking the sphinx in her stomach. She didn't react, though, and simply brought her other hand to start stroking his head. He was stunned with surprise, and stopped struggling for a bit. He was being held facing away from her, and he could see a group of guards coming into the cell. The sphinx stopped petting him and squeezed him tighter. He decided not to squirm, and see what happened. After all, the sphinx had him, and the guards were his only chance to get away....
