But the Prince had already broken the wax seal over the scroll and unrolled it, exposing the magic runes written on the parchment. A blinding red light filled the carriage. When it faded, it revealed a pretty young woman with curly red hair and freckles, sitting in Prince Kelos' seat. She glanced down at herself and grimaced.
"Perhaps you could have skipped the 'your highness' bit and got straight to the 'don't open the scroll because it will turn you into a woman' part," she said dryly to the scribe, who was now rather concerned for the continued integrity of his neck.
