In Kelos's pocket was a beautiful necklace but this was no ordinary necklace. It was in fact the evil magician Xarlat, Kelos's father had reached an agreement with Xarlat to take over the kingdom of Traeven. The plan was as simple as it was evil, first Xarlat turns himself in to necklace, second Kelos gives Fia the necklace. Who ever puts on the necklace then swaps with the person in the necklace therefore when princess Fia puts the necklace on Xarlet will take over her body.

The mad reason for this plan was Kelos's father doubted princess Fia would go though with marrying Kelos, whereas Xarlat had been forced to sign a binding magic contract that he would do everything in his power to make sure Kelos ruled both kingdoms for a long time and no harm came to him. The reason for the necklace was Marlin would spot Xarlat a mile off but as the necklace he would not be able to detect him. Once Xarlat was in princess Fia's body he could finally get close enough to kill his arch nemesis, Marlin.

After the marriage Xarlat would give Fia her body back, put a spell of enslavement on her so she does what Kelos tells and without Marlin no one would be able to break the spell. Then Xarlat being the most powerful magician in the land could have some evil fun in peace.

Kelos wasn't sure how he felt about the plan his father was right the kingdom did need to be tied together but this seemed like a very underhanded way of doing this. Kelos looked through the rain at nights destination. What is it?

You have the following choices:

1. A tavern.

2. A ruined castle.
