Miranda explained, “I have a perfect job for you Tim! I remembered a few months ago when you mentioned it would be exciting to see what it was like to be a dog.”
Tim nodded with a grin, “Ever since you have let me experiment with the medallion, it’s been on my list of things to try!”
Miranda nodded, “Good! Then this will be a fun assignment!” Miranda pulled a photo out of her purse and explained, “Allison has been begging for a dog. We went to the rescue and adopted a 9 month old lab yesterday to surprise her for her birthday.”
Tim looked at the dog in the picture and smiled, “Cute dog!”
Miranda continued, “Unfortunately, we didn’t realize they had to spay her first before we could take her home.”
“Her?” Tim asked with a giggle.
Miranda nodded, “Yea. You’ll be a girl dog. Is that okay?”
Tim laughed, “Sure! What’s the difference? It’s only for a day right?”
Miranda answered, “Yes. The rescue will deliver Daisy tomorrow after the spay. We will switch you out with the real Daisy and Allison will never know the difference. But remember, don’t try to be a hero either! I’m pretty sure you will still be able to understand English. Don’t be a perfect dog and obey everything we say. When the real Daisy gets here she will won’t be as good. She is a rescue dog so she probably scratches things and pees on the floor.”
Tim smiled, “You want me to pee on your floor?”
Miranda thought about it for a moment and looked at Tim, “Not every time! Just do it once or twice so Allison has to clean it up. It will help her learn how to train Daisy.”
Tim laughed, “This is going to be fun!”
Miranda walked Tim into the master bedroom and pulled out a collar, “Luckily, I planned ahead and put this collar on Daisy for a moment before we left yesterday. Once you become Daisy, you will have to hide in our bedroom until Allison opens her presents.” Miranda pointed to a box with a big bow on it, “I’ll come in here and put you in the box once she is ready. Make sure you scratch at it so she knows it’s a dog inside and gets excited okay?”
“No problem!” Tim answered as Miranda grabbed the medallion. She said, “It will be a few hours until we open up presents. That will give you time to get used to being a dog. Are you ready?”
Tim nodded, “Ready!”
Miranda handed the medallion and the collar to Tim and his body started to shrink down. Fur started growing out and his back arched over. His hands and feet turned into paws as Tim laughed, “Wow! This is so…..” Before he could finish his sentence, his face was replaced with a snout and dog ears dangled down. Tim was now 100% a dog and wagged his tail. He let out a few barks to test his new voice. Next, he started walking on all 4’s and quickly picked up the rhythm. He started running around the bedroom and jumping up and down from the bed. He looked at Miranda and barked twice again wagging his tail in excitement. He jumped up on the bed again and put his front paws on the window to look outside.
Miranda quickly grabbed his snout, “Daisy! Quiet down! We don’t want Allison to hear you yet!” Miranda realized she made a mistake by turning Tim into a dog so early. Tim was obviously excited and wanted to run around and test his body. Miranda knew if she left him alone in the bedroom that Tim would bark and run around causing a commotion. Miranda bent down to pet Tim and said, “Sorry Daisy, but I have to do this! It’s for your own good! We don’t want Allison’s surprise ruined!”
Tim watched as Miranda reached into her purse and pulled out a muzzle. She attached it to him and Tim couldn’t bark anymore. Next, Miranda pointed to a kennel in the corner of the room, “Kennel up Daisy!” Miranda said as Tim whined. Tim slowly walked into the kennel and Miranda locked it. She told him, “Sorry Daisy, but we can’t risk any more problems. It should only be another hour or so until she opens up presents.”
Tim wished he hadn’t run around and barked so loudly. He finally had a chance to be a dog and he was stuck in a kennel with the muzzle on. He couldn’t wait until Allison opened her presents!
