"...don't worry! It should start to feel natural soon, so you won't even miss your old life."
"Nyar!?" You exclaim without thinking, drawing a giggle from Allison that seems to relax her a bit. It's only after a couple of seconds that you realise that you just made a cat noise. She's telling the truth; you're already starting to twitch your ears around, listening to things you would have never heard before, and you feel an odd sense of balance that you've never had in your life, in spite of your two massive, jiggly new friends. Your pink tail swishes back and forth indecisively.
Seeing your hesitation, Allison continues hopefully, "it's going to be great, you'll see! I'll take good care of you, and you'll always be here for me, won't you?" Argh! She's talking like you're her pet! You want to lash out and demand that she fix you, but she looks happier than you've ever seen her, and so fragile right now... and there's something else; a creeping feeling of... affection? Deference? Something you can't quite put words to, but you're quite certain it's new. It feels comforting just being close to her, and it's hard not to just cuddle up to her and lose yourself in the feeling; you're really craving a nice ear scratching too, and some fish, and... whoa, where did that come from. Geez, whatever this is, it's getting to you, but can you really bring yourself to crush your friend in this state? She really needs you, and her lap looks so nice and cozy and perfect for a nice catnap.
Indecision plays out on your face in an expression so adorably feline, it would fit right in on a meme archive.
