Ramone turned around to see who had their hand on his shoulder. It was a middle-aged man.
"Hi, I'm Bob," the man said, looking down at Ramone. "I'm Jake's father."
Ramone immediately saw that Bob was more than double that of Jake's size. The small man barely came up to Bob's knees. He also had the same musculature and build as his son, too.
"So, what brings you here?" the kindly man asked.
"Jake saw me wash up on the beach, so he brought me here, I guess." Ramone looked around the house. Everything was exactly what one would expect in a modern suburban house. Except that everything was at least three times the normal size. The walls themselves rose nearly 50 feet in the air. Chairs could seat five people of Ramone's size. The TV looked like a movie screen.
"Well, that's Jake," the man replied. "Always trying to help people out." The giant man walked back to his chair and sat down, picking up the newspaper he was reading before.
"Who is it, Bob?" a feminine voice called out from the kitchen. A few seconds later, a woman's frame nearly filled the kitchen doorway. It was apparently Jake's mother. She was as large and as muscular as both Jake and Bob. Her shoulders and arms were phenomenal.
"Oh, I see Jake has a guest. Just make yourself comfortable" She smiled sweetly and went back into the kitchen.
"Where the hell am I?" Ramone asked himself. "It's like these people are the living embodiment of The Incredible Hulk.
Jake then reappeared from the kitchen, a big smile on his face. He was carrying a few sandwiches in one hand. "Come on. I want to show you my room." Without warning, he bent down and slung the tiny man over his massive shoulder again, practically skipping away as he walked.
He entered his bedroom and dropped Ramone down on his bed. Ramone bounced up and down a few times before coming to a stop. "Jake, why do you do that? I can walk, you know?"
"Because it's fun." the child smiled down at him. He handed Ramone a sandwich. The man reluctantly took it and bit into it. It had been hours since he had last eaten. He was starving.
Ramone looked around Jake's room. His bed must have been around 15 feet in length. His toys lying on the floor were nearly as big as he was, and a few surpassed him in height. Everything was gigantic.
"So, what did you want to show me?" the man said, taking another bite from his sandwich.
"Nothing, really. I just wanted to spend some time with you. You want to play?" Ramone nodded his head.
And over the next hour or so, the two played. First with a few action figures, then hide and seek. The man had to admit, it was fun playng with this child, despite his hulking size. Still, at every opportunity he got, Ramone looked for a way to escape.
"Jake! Dinner!" his mother yelled.
"I'm busy playing with Ramone!" the child responded.
"N-No!" Ramone said quickly, grabbing Jake by the hand. "I'm actually getting hungry again."
Jake shrugged, looking down at him. "Okay, then." He then picked Ramone up once more, depositing him only when he got to the dinner table. There was even a detour to the bathroom, where Jake went to relieve himself. All the while, Ramone dangled over Jake's back, shifting a few times when he got uncomfortable. In the back of his mind, Ramone thought the child was doing this to somehow impress him or something.
*****************************
It was nighttime. Jake and Ramone had been in the child's bedroom for the past two hours, the only breaks coming when one of them had to go to the bathroom. Ramone was propped up against the wall, fighting to stay awake. They had been playing ever since dinner was over. The man was exhausted.
"So, then," Jake said, finishing up a story. "The man at the store laughed so hard when dad fell down, he peed his pants!" Jake laughed a boisterous laugh.
Ramone, eyes half-open, gave a complimentary smile. "Jake?" he asked. "Can we please go to bed? I'm exhausted."
Jake sighed, picking his new friend up and depositing him on the bed once more. The child got dressed in his pajamas. When he turned around, Ramone was already asleep.
The child climbed into bed, being careful not to hurt Ramone. In a few minutes, Jake himself was asleep, too.
