Nearly bouncing down down the stairs was none other than the same Lyra that her mother had loved, dressed in a pair of overall shorts over her red shirt, showing off her thin body (somewhat too thin for her mother's tastes). With her long hair tied in the back into two tails, Lyra's face curved into a smile as she adjusted her large white cap. "Ah... That's better!"
"Good morning, Lyra!" her mother greeted as her energetic daughter ran over to the kitchen table. "Sleep well last night?"
"Are you kidding?" Lyra asked with a bright look appearing in her eyes as she took a seat. "I was too excited to sleep!"
"Well, be sure to have a nice filling breakfast," her mother advised pushing a large plate of toast, eggs, and bacon.
... Lyra gazed at the plate of food, she was never really one to eat too much... Her figure was proof enough of that. Heck, looking at her mother's plump figure was a constant reminder that there was a slippery slope...
Still though, skipping dinner last night was more than enough of a reason to allow Lyra to dig into the food if just to quiet the rumbling hunger in her stomach.

A few minutes later, and a rather stuffed stomach...
"Ugh... Note to self," Lyra mumbled as she closed the door to her house behind her. "Don't eat like that again..."
New Bark Town was quite large for a town that only had a two paths out of it - One on the road and the other on the water.
Of course, Lyra had seen this town all the time when she was growing up... And there was only one place that she had to go to...
"Professor Elm's Lab, here I come!" Lyra announced before she winced, her full stomach making its appearance known again...
