Wave was getting her hover board modified by Tails in his garage when Sonic strolled in from his afternoon jog, which would put any human Olympic runners to shame with ease. He looked her over with a quick glance, already knowing what the bird girl is here for. H sat on a stool and watched Tails move his tools about the machinery like an artist crafting a painting. It was fairly cloudy outside, thunder crackling back and forth. Sonic hates water, so he did his best to rush back as quick as he could. The cool breeze on his fur was worth it, though.
"Heavy rain's rolling in, Wave. You should stay the night. You're more than welcome to." Tails invited her to stay over due to his friendly nature.
"I appreciate it, but I'll be fine. I've skated in bad weather plenty of times." Wave assured him, taking her now finished board and throwing it ahead of her as the garage opened.
Rain had already began to heavily shower, the thunder getting more ecstatic, whipping roars across the cloudy, now night sky. She adjusted her goggles over her eyes and jumped onto the board, kicking backward with her other foot and turning to stand on it at an angle as it boosted her forward. A crackle rippled over head and a yellow bolt of lightning struck down at the purple feathered skater. With his literal lightning speed, Sonic's heroic instincts made him leap out of the stool and sprint as fast as he could move his legs, tackling the girl off her board. The bolt missed her by just a hair, but struck the board with full might, causing it to translate the shock onto the two that now lay in the grass. Both forced unconscious by such a sudden turn of events.
