One fine evening in Kanto's Viridian Forest, a lone female Pikachu hopped along a mountain trail.
This Pikachu was fairly young, having evolved just a scant few months ago. Despite her new-found maturity, her innate desire to explore had not yet left her.
The Pikachu colony she came from thus entrusted her with the duty of scouting. It was this Pikachu's duty to wander around the forest and report anything she found to the elder Raichu.
Truthfully, it was just an excuse the elder made up to let her explore as much as she pleased.
Not that he would ever admit indulging her...
Anyway, on this fine evening, as this Pikachu was exploring the mountain trail, she noticed a small cavern a few ways above her.
Even from a distance, she could see a strange green glow radiating from the cavern's entrance.
