Chapter #62Kim Welsh and the mask of permanence by: Unknown You are currently snuggled up under the covers of your bed with your pajamas on, reading under a book light with your black rimmed glasses on. A small strand of red hair falls in your face and you brush it behind your ear, because Kim Welsh has a mane of curly red hair, and now you are Kim Welsh. Thats why you are currently in her bed, wearing her pajamas in her house. You are currently reading the book that allowed you to become her with the use of magic masks. With your newly gained intelligence you've been speed reading through the "Book of Masks". Its a good thing Kim took a Latin language class online, because you've been using this new skill to secure your future as Kim Welsh and hers as Will Prescott. After all he can't disappear can he, nor would it be nice to keep her as a golem slave forever right?
Its only been approximately 8 hours since you've donned your new identity and you've already felt like you were finally home. "Home is where the Heart Is" a sign Kim has says, hanging above her bed, and you definitely feel your heart here. ..
The future the original Kim was crafting for herself was too desirable to pass up or to ever give away. Being the prude that she was her Harvard acceptance letter was something she did not tell anyone, rather the accomplishment alone was to be most proud of, so she thought. She would be attending Harvard for her bachelors degree then hopefully off to law school on a full scholarship the following fall, and she couldn't be more pleased with herself. All those late night hours of cramming before tests, the struggle of AP classes, running for senior class president, all while working a job, was in preparation for going to one of the most prestigious colleges in the U.S. this was her future, but now it's yours. All those painstaking hours of her life would now benefit you because you are now Kim Welsh. You look like her, sound like her, and have her memories. You know her Social Security number, credit card pin, and every detail about her life to successfully pass as the one and only Kim Welsh.
It was about 8 hours when you had been your old self and in the heat of the moment had finally admitted that you liked her. Right there in the hotel room with the mask behind your back, it was a desperate plea to her to take the option of becoming your girlfriend, or have a mask slammed onto her face, of course she didn't know the outcome of either of those options as she had no idea you had a magic mask in your hands. She was taken back for a second upon your reveal to her and she had politely declined your offer to take her out on a date, stating she just wasn't ready to have a boyfriend. Of course it wasn't until after you had donned her mask and taken her memories that she really did not find you attractive at all, your personality was fine but you were not eye pleasing to her in the slightest. But her rejection of you doesn't bother you now, you realize you are much more happy being her then having her as a girlfriend would ever make you.
This is what brings you to overlook the next chapter of the magic book, a spell that would be able to craft a permeant mask, a mask that can never be removed. A masked if placed on the real Kim would turn her permanently into a copy of the Will Prescott with all his and her old memories. This seems like a much more humane way of leaving Kim instead of keeping her as a golemized Will Prescott forever, while you go off to Harvard. She would be free to determine her own destiny even though it would be in the body and life of Will Prescott.
