Chapter #17Go With Lisa by: imaj “Sure,” you say to Lisa.
“Once round the playing field should be enough,” replies Lisa, opening the door for you.
“So what did you have to say,” you begin once you reach the school sports field. The football team is having an after school practice session but they are far to busy to pay attention to the pair of you.
“I know you’re feeling happy right now Cassie,” replies Lisa. “But there are some things you really need to know.”
“So you already said. Spill the beans.”
“Will isn’t the amiable goofball he appears to be. You’ll find that out like I did. He’s possessive, suffers from dark rages and… and…” she says seemingly to the verge of tears. “He took advantage of me.”
You stand with your mouth hanging open for a second, shocked at the betrayal. You stumble for a second, mentally trying to pull the veneer of Cassie’s personality back over your own.
“No way,” you say, Lisa doesn’t seem to have noticed the momentary blip. “That’s not like Will at all. He’s been nothing but kind and sweet to me.”
“He just wants to get inside your panties Cassie. It’s all sweetness and light to start with. He’ll help with your school work, give you gifts. I kept trying to tell him we were just good friends but he wanted more from me, more and more.”
In a sense it is true, you have tricked your way into Cassie’s panties. You’re wearing them right now. The rest seems… skewed: A little bit of truth to sugar coat a whole lot of lie.
“I only agreed to date him be I was scared what he would do. And it was always more, further and further,” says Lisa, tears are streaming down here cheeks now. “Kissing after school became quick feels in his truck. Then one night, he took me up to the old North Suffolk overlook on Plumtree Road and he tried… he tried… he tried to have sex with me.”
Lisa’s moved to complete lies now. In truth you never got past first base with her. Inside you’re raging at the sheer size of the falsehood. Cassie however, is agog. It’s exactly the kind of story that she would pay attention to.
“And, what happened,” you ask.
“I managed to push him off, but he kicked me out his truck and left me there to walk home by myself.
“Wow,” you say. It’s a sentiment that you and Cassie both share, if for different reasons.
“All I’m asking is that you think about what I’ve said. Think about who your friends are,” Lisa says before turning and walking away, leaving you standing alone watching the football team train.
Girls: You’ve never understood them, not even now that you are one yourself.

“I told you she’d be jealous boss,” says the Umeko golem. You’ve arrived at the clubhouse a little late, but you ‘brains trust’ is waiting for you.
“You really think that’s what it is?”
“Lisa has been more friendly to us over the last couple of days,” acknowledges the Will golem. “It’s strange that she’d tell a bunch of lies about us to Cassie.”
“Unless she’s jealous,” interrupts the Umeko golem. “She totally wants you back boss, but Cassie’s in the way. So she goes to Cassie, tells her some sob story that’s going to scare her out of the picture. It’s a classic plan.”
“It’s a fucking cliché is what it is,” states the Will golem.
“What’s freaking me out is that Chelsea Cooper of all people tried to warn Cassie off Will too today,” you explain.
“What,” splutters the Will golem.
“Yeah,” you continue. “She gave me this big speech about how good she’d been to me, to Cassie, in the past and how dating Will might get in the way of that.”
“Psycho bitch is psycho,” says the Umeko golem. “Who knows what the fuck is going on inside her head.”
“I know I keep going on about how Blackwell could be anyone,” you say. “But mostly I’ve been assuming he’s pretending to be Cindy. What you said after school got me thinking.”
“What I said boss,” asks the Will golem. “Give me a hint maybe?”
“About Cindy.”
“That she was crying all day you mean,” it asks. “I said she wasn’t talking to people either.”
“Exactly. If that’s Blackwell he’s spending too much time pretending to be Cindy.”
“I don’t understand the problem,” says the Umeko golem. “I mean, that’s a good thing right.”
“No,” you explain. “What if it actually is Cindy. That’s the reason Cindy is acting so much like Cindy, because she actually is Cindy.”
“That makes absolutely no sense boss,” says the Will golem.
“Fuck,” you exclaim. “You know what I mean: Blackwell’s not Cindy. He’s impersonating someone else.”
“But who,” asks the Umeko golem.
“If you ask me, and you should by the way since I am both devilishly handsome and incredibly intelligent,” says the Will golem. “Both Chelsea and Lisa are acting strangely.”
“I think you’re right,” you say. | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
