Chapter #5
Controling Humans
by: Unknown
As Kody sat down, he realized that something was off. His stomach warned him of upcoming nausea and he swayed before tilting his head forward and started vomiting. Did the colors of that boring painting on the wall that his mother had bought dirty cheap seem brighter? No, it was just an after effect of the puddle of vile green vomit that contained chunks of the brownie he had eaten earlier bobbing in it.
When was mom coming home again? Oh right, she was working late at the police station tonight. Kody (still slightly trembling) went over to the home phone and dialed 890-768-3651, praying that his mother would answer.
"Hello, this is Julia White at the Fishers Police Station. Who would you like to contact?"
"My mom..." Kody's voice was scratchy and rough.
"Name please."
"Kody..."
"Well Kody, what is your mom's name?"
"Julie."
"Last name please."
"Uhh..." Kody tried to remember, but something was blocking it all out. He slammed the phone onto its place on the charger and began to realize that the world was a big cloud of bright colors and only after did he realize that he couldn't concentrate did he flop onto the couch and close his eyes.
"Julie, will you please take the time to consider this?"
"No, I am tired of considering!" Kody sat up from the coach realizing that both his mom and his dad were home and arguing. This did not surprise Kody in the very least and he trudged over to the place were his parents stood bickering like animals.
"Peace!" demanded Kody. All of a sudden there was a change, mom looked happy and dad seemed to relax. What had he done?
"Uh, you guys can go back to arguing now!" In the blink of an eye, Julie was raising her voice over her husband's and the argument started up again like it had never started. Neither parents looked at Kody how he glanced absentmindedly out the window thinking about what he had done with a glint of mischief in his eye.
