Chapter #6

After the movie.

Around two hours passed before the credits rolled. Julie didn’t hesitate to ask the obvious question once they were out of the cinema.

“Sooo, did you like it?” Julie asked with a cheeky grin. You rolled your eyes at this but couldn’t help but smile a little.

“It wasn’t terrible, I’ll give you that but you have to admit. So much of the film was forced.” Julie smiled triumphantly.

“Told you would like it.”

“I didn’t say that” You teased, Julie stuck her tongue out at you in response.

“You big Scroog, I saw you getting teary eyed at the end. You liked it.” Julie offered her hand out to you again but this time, there wasn’t an air of teasing or condescending attitude. You gingerly took her hand.

“I liked parts of it, just parts though!” You couldn’t help but smile as Julie snorted in disbelief. This sent the two of you into a giggle fit.

A comfortable silence fell as you began making your way back home. The Autumn winds made you shiver a bit, which caused Julie to give you a sympathetic look.

“Yeah, if there’s one thing that sucks about being a girl is that a lot of our clothes are pretty thin.” Julie let go of your hand and then moved to your right side and started to block some of the wind. It was then that you noticed how warm Julie was keeping your hand. You felt your cheeks flush a bit as you took Julie’s hand again.

“Oh!” Julie looked taken back for a moment before she started grinning happily.

“You know, if you lean into me you’ll be a lot warmer.” Your blush deepened a bit at the tease.

“Yeah, I’m gonna pass on that one.”

“Always such a Scrooge.” Julie teased warmly but didn’t push the issue for once. You’re a little disappointed that she didn’t, just a little though! Not a lot.

“Hey Danielle, did you like the date? Apart from before we got there.” Julie asked somewhat nervously. The question actually got you to stop as you though it over.
