Karen - shy, little, quiet Karen - watched Liz strut her way down the hallway, confident that it was the last time she would have to witness the big breasted bitch holding her 'sway', so to speak, over her classmates. Being a genius, and with a particular interest in ancient folklore and herbalism, Karen had found a certain fungus that she knew would knock Liz down a few notches.
Ancient legend claimed that the fungus, when ingested by a human, would bring their features into balance with the world around them. Karen knew that Liz's features were well above the average, so bringing her into balance with the world would be a serious knock down the ladder. The fact that the fungus bore a perfect likeness to common garden mushrooms had made it easy to sneak into Liz's salad earlier in the day, the salad that Liz was now taking to the cafeteria for lunch.
Karen couldn't wait to witness the effect - which was sure to be quite a pleasant show, at least it would be for all the girls who had been down trodden by Liz and the guys whom she had already used up and dumped like yesterdays garbage. Karen watched Liz take her first bite. And then her second. And then her third. It seemed to her that, according to the legends, even from this distance and angle the changes to her quarry should be apparent - and then they suddenly became so, much to her dismay. Karen realized that she could Liz actually seemed to be inching taller relative to the other girls at her table, and if she wasn't mistaken, Liz's bosom was actually becoming more prominent.
What Karen had failed to account for in her research was that the fungus was not considered a bane, but a blessing. It did not bring one into balance with their peers, but with the very essence of nature itself. Nature - raw and unfettered power and beauty beyond that which was contained in any mere human shell. The fungus spread through it's host releasing the full strength and majesty of nature into them.
