The streets of Voreville seemed particularly empty this evening. With the sunlight disappearing over the mountains and a cold breeze setting in, everyone big and small had already rushed home, humans from their offices and giants from their factories and fields, with barely a single person to be found outside by the time six o’clock rolled around. Not even the familiar packs of giant boy hunters could be seen roaming the dark streets. Everyone was at home, the windows in every house illuminated by the glowing light of television screens and giant-sized home theatres, all tuned to the same channel, ready to watch the same thing.
“Welcome all audiences young and old, giant and human, to a very, very special episode of Cooking with Boys: The All-Boy Cooking Show!” The giant celebrity chef Riese sounded especially boisterous today as he spoke into the camera from his glitzy and gigantic kitchen set, his newest boyskin suit shining in the bright studio lights. “You all know what’s in store for tonight’s episode. Am I right?” The live studio audience, and the millions of people watching at home, all cheered in unison. “That’s right! Tonight, I’m going to be demonstrating my boy culinary expertise like never before, because we’ve got some very special ingredients!”
The live studio audience began cheering even louder as Riese reached down to the kitchen counter set in front of him. There, on the shiny marble surface were three small silver serving trays, not too big, only about 25 feet in diameter, complete with metallic dome coverings, not unlike the kind that might come when ordering room service at a hotel. With graceful precision, Riese grabbed the lid of the first tray and swooped it open.
