Well, with Allie suspicious of you now, you figure it's better to come clean than anything else. Besides, if she's in on your secret (for however long it actually stays a secret at this rate), it might be a good opportunity to get closer to her. With enough luck, you might even get her to go out with you - but you decide not to get ahead of yourself just yet.
You swallow and give a nervous chuckle. "Ah, well, maybe? Kind of?" You reach up and place your hands on either side of your head, actively testing your power for the first time, and...
...with a slight pop, your head separates from your body. Somewhat disoriented by the change in your perspective, you hold your head under your arm like a basketball as Allie's mouth hangs open.
"Wait, wait hold on just a second here. Did YOU do this?!" You see her arms tensing up and suspect that she might punch you if you say the wrong thing.
"No, no, not--I mean, maybe? But not on purpose!" you insist. "I swear, the only way I knew it works is if I actually touch the person!"
Allie's body relaxes, if only slightly, and her head lets out a breath. "Alright, I guess I believe you."
You blink. "...You do? I know it doesn't exactly sound believable."
"Steve, you and I are standing here with our heads popped off, having a conversation. Unless you WANT me to be mad at you, I'm willing to just say this is pretty cool and leave it at that."
"...You think it's cool?" you repeat, incredulous.
Allie's body places a hand on her hip. "Well, yeah," says her head. "Like I said, it gives me a chance to actually see what my routine looks like from the stands. Plus it could be a lot easier to see things in hard to reach spots. Or it could make a really cool Headless Horsewoman costume!"
You chuckle. "I admit, I didn't think of that." Of course, one more thought occurs to you - you and Allie are, as she said, standing within arm's reach of one another, both with your heads detached. And Allie's body is right there. The same voice that told you about your power in the first place also said you could swap heads with people, and you can't imagine a better candidate than Allie.
