'If only he knew what I was going through sometimes!' As soon as Judy had thought those words, she suddenly noticed that the stone was starting to glow.
"Uh, Carrots?" asked Nick, who had also seen the glow of the stone. "What's with the light-show?"
Judy just managed to say: "I have no idea," before the light from the stone grew so bright that it completely filled the apartment and forcing the two mammals to shut their eyes in the face of it.
A strange feeling enveloped the two mammals. It was like they were being sucked up into a vacuum cleaner and then spit back out again. As the strange feeling disappeared, so did the light.
Judy was the first to recover. She opened her eyes, but couldn't see anything other than a vague, gray blob. Since her vision was still blurry, so she blinked a few times to make it go away. She noticed how the gray blob became gradually clearer, until she was looking at.... herself???
This was a weird situation for Judy. How could she be looking at herself? Even more puzzling was the fact that the other Judy seemed to be smaller than her.
Judy watched as the other her stared up at her and then asked: "Why am I seeing myself?" It was such a strange question; but it was even stranger that the other Judy suddenly moved her paw to her throat, like she was surprised by her own voice.
"I could be asking the same..." was all Judy managed to say before she apruptly cut off. Her voice sounded a lot deeper than it usually did.
As Judy stood pondering over this, she watched the other Judy first looking at her, then looking down at herself, before turning wide-eyed and white as though the other her had just seen a ghost.
A look of dawning realization flickered across the other Judy's face, before being replaced with a look of nervousness.
Judy watched as the other Judy looked up at her again and said: "Is that you, Carrots?"
Judy's eyes went wide. There was only one mammal in Zootopia that called her that...
"Nick?" she asked the other bunny in her new voice. The other Judy nodded. "But... how come you look like me?"
"I was about to ask you that, too," said Judy's clone, whom she now knew to be Nick.
It took a moment before the full meaning of Nick's words sank in. And it lead Judy to see a very disturbing pattern. The fact that her 'other self'/Nick seemed to be smaller than udual, the strange feeling from when they were in the light, her new deeper voice, Nick now looking like her... it all added up to one undeniable solution.
Swallowing, Judy looked down at herself and gasped. Instead of the ZPD uniform and grey-furred foot-paws that she was used to seeing, she instead saw a green Hawaiian shirt, an indigo necktie, khaki pants and red-furred foot-paws.
The realization hit Judy like a ton of bricks. Somehow, she and her partner had swapped bodies!!!
The following scream could be heard across all of Zootopia.
What happens next?
