He went looking for a shelter and get some rest...

The rain poured harder on the already soaked echidna; he needed to find shelter to wait out the thunderstorm, before another lightning bolt came in. He already survived being shocked once, and he didn't intend for it to happen twice in one day.
Knuckles brought himself to his feet and began to look around for any place he could wait out the storm. He looked left, then right. As he was looking, he happened to spy an ancient ruin. There wasn't much more space in there than your average living room, but it would keep the rain off of him!
Cautiously running down the steps, Knuckles made his way towards the ruin. As he came down to the bottom of the stairs, though, he froze.
His body felt as if his muscles were being pulled. Thunder began to crash overhead again...
