Friends Of The Faeries

Sprites are slightly smaller than Faeries and tend to live in the deeper forest. They are very similar to elves of fantasy fiction in appearance. They aren't winged like Faerie's and tend to live more spread out in a network of small colonies, in a unstructured style society. They are matriarchal society and have a low male birthrate. So male sprites are rare, but not unheard of. Typically they are lithe of build but come in a wide range of skin tones and hair colors.

The Sprites are excellent scouts, able to move quietly and quickly while remaining well hidden. They often carry weapons such as bows and blades, and are skilled in using them. Unlike their Faerie counterparts. They are bitter enemies with another sentient race that shares their region, the Pothinek. Who take a special pleasure in hunting Sprites.



Mermaids are common throughout the world's water sources, from the great oceans all the way down to small ponds and marshlands. Often connected by river systems both above and below ground. They tend to be rather nomadic and live in small groups to avoid attention, joining with others they meet for safety. They typically are about the size of Faeries, and tend to be care free and playful. Mermen are not uncommon, though they typically tend to be solitary.

They have many enemies, as they are low on the food chain and many of the more voracious sentient races are always eager to snack on them. In the region we're focused on, their biggest enemies would likely be the Grekka of the marshes.
