Starglint knew that the sea rats would be long gone by the time he made it to the beaches of Salamandastron, and the vermin he was tracking were just as dangerous as any creature in the world, so a contingency plan would be the wisest move to make. 'Besides,' he thought, 'certainly not a chore I'm going to dislike.'
The brock made his way east, towards the road and the abbey. A badger mum almost always lives within the walls of the abbey, but, it isn't quite common knowledge if they have taken a vow of chastity in their living as a nun. Then again, perhaps she could still be... persuaded. Starglint shuddered at the very dark thought, and was uncomfortable that the thought appealed to him at a rather... base need.
Starglint peered around the woods in his walk, his wide, bare paws sinking lightly in the peatmoss. His nose inhaling old urine, three days past since it was made by the tree. Starglint knelt at its base, taking another sniff. Two badgers, a male and a female by the scent. They had a head start, and he wasn't sure what the relationship was between the two, but, with the mating season upon all the forest creatures, he might still have a chance.
