Matt got home from school and threw his backpack down on the floor. He stopped by the kitchen to grab his usual after-school snack: some crackers and a glass of milk. Matt got his food and headed upstairs to do his homework and watch some TV before supper. That had been his routine for the past decade and a half, and it wasn't about to change anytime soon.
Supper was, as usual, nothing much. A chicken breast, some vegetables...Matt sighed. He had eaten the same stuff, day in and day out, for 15 years now. And he was tired of it. Bland, boring, "good for you" food wasn't what he wanted. But, unfortunately, that was really his only option. He didn't have the money to go buy himself whatever he wanted, and in the end, his mother could still take it away. Being 15 sucks.
Matt went upstairs to his room and flopped on his bed. What could he possibly do for some fun? Sure, he had video games and TV and stuff. But what he really wanted was food, and lots of it. He had seen...well, he had found some magazines under his friend's dad's bed. It showed people eating more than Matt thought possible. And they really seemed to enjoy it. Matt wanted to try it, see what it was like. But who really wants to stuff themselves full of carrots or graham crackers? Matt knew right then and there that it had to be junk food. But how could he pull off getting that kind of stuff with his parents always watching him?
And just then, he knew how he could do it. The same way every kid in movies does-tell his parents he's going to a friend's house, have the friend vouch for him, and he's good. But wait-why not actually use one of his friends in this devious plan? His buddy Jack was always up for a fun plan. Plus, Jack's parents let him do practically anything. Matt picked up the phone.
