Chapter #6

Aurora's still having doubts

    by: charcoal Author IconMail Icon
Aurora stretched as she stood up. Her bird like feet clacked on the hard ground as she pulled a shirt on to cover her endowments. It was designed by her mother to cover her front, while allowing her to fly freely.

“I’m still not sure about this mother.” Aurora says apprehensively.

Her mother waves her hand dismissively, “Don’t worry, human’s are weak and pathetic! You’ve become very powerful so killing them shouldn’t present any problem for you. Now go out there and slay some humans!”

“Yes mother,” Aurora sighs as she walks out of the cave. She spreads her wings and takes off.

As she flies, she thinks over what her mother wants her to do. Being able to kill humans isn’t exactly what she’s unsure of. In truth, she doesn't know her father is human. Jezebel had told her that she was a phoenix cursed by humans to be like this after she was born. For her entire life, her mother has encouraged her to hate humans. Aurora knows that she has every right to hate humans for cursing into this half human body. But she just can’t bring herself to actually hate them when she’s never actually seen a human before.

Aurora flies around aimlessly for awhile, mentally conflicted about what she should do, when she suddenly spots some activity on the ground far below. She’s half human but her eyesight is still that of a phoenix so she’s able to clearly see...
