Your hope of escaping rose as you felt the water peeling you from the woman’s foot, but your hope was crushed with you as she stepped out of the pool and onto the hot cement. Your tiny body squished and squelched every time the woman took a step, and you only had a second to breathe between steps before she squashed the air out of your lungs again. Not to mention, your mouth was crushed in a way that only allowed you to breathe through your nose, forcing you to smell the woman’s musk with every breathe.
Usually when you’re mistaken for a bug, the person who crushes you scrapes you off their foot, so you were a bit worried. Either this woman likes to keeps bugs stuck to her feet, or she knew you were a person and stepped on you anyway. You couldn’t tell which one was worse.
