"I think we should get help from Takamichi-sensei", Asuna told Negi. "He's very smart and knowledgeable about most anything. Perhaps he can guide us to a source." "You're right", he said, nodding in agreement. "Takamichi might not be able to use magic the way I can, but he can still help us." However, Negi and Asuna couldn't go wandering around Mahora Academy looking for him: the sight of a 20-foot tall girl would scare the school. So the two retreated to the woods.
Fortunately, Asuna's new height made it 4 times faster than usual to get away from the school, with Negi not too far behind, flying on his stick. Negi then decided to telepathically contact Takamichi via a card placed upon his forehand, in much the same manner he's communicated to his own students in the past.
"Takamichi, can you hear me?" asked Negi, hoping for a response. "It's me, Negi. We have a bit of a situation he.."
"I hear you, Negi-kun", Takamichi replied. "What seems to be the manner?"
"Well....have you ever heard of a spell that makes objects, as well as people, grow big?"
"Hmm...I vaguely remember it, but I don't remember it being widely used. Why?"
"Well, I was trying it the other day, and.."
"I suppose it backfired and hit one of your students?"
"Yes", Negi sighed, Asuna sighing simultaneously with him. "It hit Asuna-san, and now she's 20 feet tall! I don't know how to reverse it!"
"Please help us, Takahata-sensei!", Asuna said right in front of Negi's face, hoping he would hear her. "If word caught out about this, Negi would be turned into an ermine for sure!"
"Well, thankfully for you two I know of a way to resolve this, but it's fairly dangerous", explained Takamichi, a worried tone in his voice. "The only known copy of a spell that reverse spells of that magnitude is guarded by a monster in the library underground."
"You mean like the one Negi and I went to when we were studying for the exams a few months ago?" asked Asuna.
"Yep", replied Takamichi. "The very same. You'll have to retrace your steps down there and find him. Once you get past him, you can find a whole array of books with various spells. But for your sake, only use the shrinking spell."
"Why is that?" asked Negi.
"The other spells are so powerful, and I don't mean anything harsh by this, but someone of your experience level may not be able to handle the spells without disasterous results."
"We understand", said Negi and Asuna in unison. And with that, Negi caught off his connection with Takamichi.
"Well Negi, I guess we're going on another strange adventure", Asuna told her teacher, rubbing his head playfully with her left hand.
"Seems so", he said in reply. "But do you think we should go alone?"
