“Hey Britt, whatcha got there?” Jeanette asked Brittany as she entered the kitchen.
“Just a note form Mrs. Miller,” replied Brittany
“Is the note E flat or A minor?”
“It’s not that kind of note Jeanette," answered Brittany as she rolled her eyes. "It’s a note telling us that Mrs. Miller has left us home alone for a few weeks and has left me in charge," Brittany continued as she placed the note back on the counter and walked toward the refrigerator.
"That can't be right? Why would Mrs. Miller leave you in charge? Let me see that note," Jeanette said as she walked toward the counter.
As Jeanette was reading the note Brittany was scanning the refrigerator for something to eat. Everything looks so good, Brittany thought to herself, I'm sure nothing bad will happen if I have myself a "little" snack.
“Brittany, this note says that we are all in charge not just you,” Jeanette said after she finished reading the note.
“Nothing gets past you eagle eye,” Brittany sarcastically replied as she slammed the refrigerator door. In her hands she had a small pizza, some materials to make a ham sandwich, and half a chocolate cake. “If you need me Jeanette, I’ll be in my room having a little snack.”
