Phoning Kyle

Doug grabs the phone and after fishing out his Grandma's phone book he finds Kyle's number and dials. Kyle's familiar voice answers.
'Hello'
'Hey Kyle, it's Doug'
'NO WAY Doug it's so good to hear from you! How are you?'
'Im good thanks, just calling to see if you want to come over and use the pool, im at my Grandma's for a few weeks vacation. We could catch up then, if you'd like to. That's if you haven't got a training session to go to.'

Kyle used to be an avid swimmer, but was considering quitting it this time last year. Doug hadn't spoken or seen Kyle in all that time and so wasn't sure if he would have practice or not. What did Kyle decide a year ago?
