Looking at the school's entrance, you breathe a sigh of relief when you notice that the door is propped open. You look at your schedule, and your luck fades away: your first class, Mathematics, is on the third floor. You are still afraid that the big anthros walking around might want to bully you, so you try to stay out of their sight. Half walking, half dashing, you make it to the entrance without being seen. So far, so good.
Once inside, you quickly hide behind the propped door and return to your map. You read it over and over, looking for anything that might be an elevator. However, all there are is three staircases. This is going to be a very difficult commute every morning.
As you see the crowd of giant students growing, you decide that you will be less likely to be seen in the crowd than in the open. So, hugging the wall, you inch towards the stampede of anthros, then make a dash for the nearest staircase. You immediately want to regret your logic as you find yourself dodging big furry paws and sharp taloned feet as large as you are. Zigzagging left and right, you lose your breath when your head brushes against a dangling pant leg. You quickly disappear before the anthro noticed anything; you didn't even care what kind of anthro it was.
Finally, you reach the stairs. You hug the wall, staying in the shadows, and look at the first flight. There are twenty steps, each of which is four feet high. Catching your breath from all of the running, you toss your backpack onto the first step, then drag yourself up. You look towards the other wall and see the plethora of climbing paws start to thin. Knowing that time is short, you toss your backpack up another step and scramble after it. You do this two more times, and already you are completely and utterly exhausted. You feel hopeless now, and wish that you could have just gone to a normal school like everyone else.
Just when you thought it could not get any worse, your greatest fear is realized. Above you, you hear a voice saying, "Do you need any help, human?" You shout in fright as you see who had spoken to you.
