You exchange stories about each other on the wa...

After a few minutes of awkward silence while being carried on a large red plane of feathers surrounded by five blue mountains, with the constant sound of an ambient rumbling, you decide to break the ice.

"So William..." You begin, turning your attention to the giant face looking straight ahead.

"...Tell me about yourself" You finish speaking your request.

Then, a pair of giant eyes look down on you, the beaked face still with its attention forward.

"Well...." He starts to reply in a slight raspy tone. "My name is William, as you already know...heh" He lets out a few small chuckles. "I'm seventeen years old..." He continues. "And not to brag but I'm part of a special club here in the school that's exclusive to high class avians such as *ahem* myself." He stated with some cockiness leaking from his tone.

"Oh boy..." You murmur to yourself. "That explains the clothes I guess." You mumble again examining what you can of his clothing. You had to admit though, this bird dressed pretty classy. A sky blue polo with what looked like a gold and brown coat of arms being held up by two magnificent looking birds at the top right of the torso. Dark brown slacks that look pretty costly, and in fact while you he was picking you up, you noticed a huge chrome band around his left wrist, that could very well be a fancy watch of sorts. You had a feeling you weren't the only reason why he dressed that way. You return your attention to the giant watchful eyes and listen some more.

"And also," He continues. "The leader of the club is an eagle named George, and guess what?" He asks.

"Uhhh...What?" You reply, bracing for another harmless bragging.

"He's the teacher of the history class!" He exclaims happily. "And when he heard I was going to be the partner of an alien, he said he was going to make a special welcome for you!" William happily shouted. "I might have ruined the surprise but I thought since you're most likely a nervous wreck about this whole thing you could use some comforting words." He says smiling at you.

"W-wow...I uhh, don't know what to say. Thanks!" Just like that, your almost overwhelming anxiety vanished and for once you felt safe standing on this giant parrot's hand, and the rumbling footsteps didn't seem to bother you anymore. You just smiled at him and actually sat down in his titanic palm and relaxed for once.

William chuckles. "Feeling better? Heh. Just sit back and enjoy your ride on the SS William!" He jokingly orders.

You laugh a little with him and begin to lay down in the feathered plane, your arms crossed behind your head when suddenly you remember.

"Oh yeah!" You shout. "Forgot to tell you a little about myself!" You remind William.

Just then, a loud ringing noise, making you cover your ears begins to go off.

"Oh! That would be the bell!" Williams states as the deafening ringing stops. "We better hurry!"

Shortly after he said that, the rumbling you heard was becoming even more constant, and less ambient, yet it doesn't feel like William is moving faster. You look forward and what you see at the end of the seemingly infinite corridor of giant lockers paralyzes you. Doors that could very well match the size of Mount Everest begin to slowly open, followed by louder rumbling and what sounds like a thousand voices talking. Then you see it, dozens of colossal beings pour out of the doorways. You can make out some of the creatures as they walk through. Cats, some dogs, a crow with its arm wrapped around a hawk's shoulders as if they're good buddies, a lion talking with what looks like a bright green lizard and some other unique animals, all walking to their destination without a care in the world. You wish you could say the same for yourself.

"Don't worry, history class isn't that way." A raspy voice you've come to love assures you.

You sigh and relax in his palm again. "That's a relief!"

"In fact, it's in this room right here!" He states again, presenting you to a door with a thin but very large window revealing some desks with some anthros already filling in some spots, a bookshelf with a globe on top of it, and a poster with what looks like the flags of Earth's countries being displayed, with an eagle wearing an outfit similar to William's sitting in a desk with mountains of paperwork on it.

"That's him! That's George!" William excitingly told you. "You'll get along with him just fine, trust me!" He said while using his free hand to open the door.

The door made a slight creak that was probably nothing to William, but to you it was pretty loud. You feel a cool gush of air overcome you as enter the room, followed by the attention of the well-dressed eagle and some other anthro students turning to you and your friend.

"Hello Mr. Getty!" William shouts to the majestic bird raising his free hand as a greeting.

The eagle examines him for a moment and notices you in his hand. "Well a fine 'hello' to you too William! And a very special 'hello' to you little guy!" He says in a smooth and polite tone. He gets out of his desk then approaches you and William then offers a gigantic brown feathered finger as a handshake. "It's a huge pleasure to meet you! I'm George! But you can call me Mr. Getty in case you didn't hear William." He chuckles and smiles at you with a large yellow beak.

"Hello Mr. Getty!" I'm Jeremy! You can call me 'Little Guy' if you want though!" You joke with him as you try to shake his building of a finger.

"Heheheh" Mr. Getty lets out a few laughs and looks at William. "So have you two been getting along?" He asks.

"Yup!" William says gleefully.

"That's good!" Mr. Getty replies. "Now I'm pretty sure you two want to get settled." He says pointing to a desk in the front row, near his own desk. "There's your desk William, along with yours, Jeremy."

"Thanks Mr. G!" William shouts as he makes his to the desk.

As you neared the desk, you saw some anthros looking at you, one of them being that very same crow with his hawk friend sitting next him. As you both make it to the desk, William lowers you onto a vast emptiness of dark wood, a few inches from your desk. You look around the room a bit before sitting down, you notice the 'Earth's Countries' poster along with a city of books lined up in some shelves. Then you feel a slight tremor that almost makes you lose your balance, an avalanche of colors descending from a distance. It was only William taking his seat as gently as he could.

"Sorry." William says, adjusting himself to the chair.

"No problem." You reassure him as you sit down.

Then, the booming ringing sounded again. Once again you're covering your ears wincing, trying desperately to block it out when all of a sudden everything goes black and the sound is now toned down to a bearable volume.

"What the...?" You opened your eyes. "What happened?"

The ringing noise then stopped and you felt another tremor as light began to fill your vision. A bunch of colorful mountains begin to move away from you, followed by a familiar voice.

"Oh man, that must have been really loud for you! Sorry about that." William says in a concerned tone. "Did that hand thing help with the sound?" He asks.

"Y-yeah." You tell him. "Thanks, pal. Don't worry. I'll get used to it."

"I hope so!" He says, looking over you as if he was your parent.

As the time passed, more anthro students fill the room, all looking at you as they walk by. All you can do is hope this year goes by painlessly. At least you have some new friends to help you out.
