As she approached the door of Beast Boy's room, she felt compelled to knock, especially in light of yesterday's events. When there was no answer from inside, she took it upon herself to enter against her instincts.
What she saw shocked her, but perhaps not as much as it could have. After all, in the past months she had been sensing a sort of duality in Robin, and now, there he was, caught in the act of his own desires.
Such passion was displayed in that static moment that Raven herself was concerned that she would be overwhelmed by it.
"I should leave," she thought, but she did not
"I shouldn't be here," yet she remained.
There was no doubt that they were both asleep. Their faint emotions showed only fleeting dreams. She did not know why she stayed; only that she did and that she could not move away.
Their embrace, covered only loosely by the sheets, radiated with passion in its strongest form, but Raven could feel no love in their minds, only lust.
The stillness of the moment encompassed her as though the scene before her had been stopped by some unique combination of the cold morning air and the silence pressing in from all sides, held at bay by the shallow rise and fall of the lovers' chests.
"This is not the time for emotional thinking."
"I came here to apologize, but this is nether the time or place for that."
So, as quietly as possible, she backed out of the doorway and briskly returned to her quarters. There was much for her to meditate upon now.
