This choice: Elith stands and confronts the footsteps. • Go Back...
Chapter #4
Elith stands and confronts the footsteps.
by: Unknown
A pair of two red-brown boots stopped in front of her. They were tall boots, with laces tightly bound to the punctures in the leather, all the way up to the person's knees.
Trembling, Elith backed up a few steps, and hugged her arms as if cold. She stared at the man, her mouth hanging wide open.
The man bent down to look at her, and lower his lantern. Elith was bathed in light and warmth from the candle.
"Well?" the man said, his beard brushing the top of the lantern. "What are you squawking at?"
Elith thought it would be rude to say nothing. "C-could you please take me to the tavern, sir?" Stupid thing to say, she thought, scratching her pointy ear uncomfortably.
