The guy doesn't look at all like a typical frat-jock as tiny Nick gazed up at the newcomer ascending the stairs. He looks more like a grad student in the biology department.
In addition, the guy is holding a magnifying glass in his hand. After he reaches the top floor, the giant slows his pace. The giant looks around as if to make sure no one has seen his arrival on the upper floor of the frat house.
Nick, so far unseen, observed the giant's suspicious behavior.
Suddenly, the giant leans forward and, holding the magnifying glass in front of his face, peers toward the floor.
"What is he looking for?" Nick wonders.
He also debates whether he should try to attract the giant's attention. After all, the guy actually seems to be looking for something.
There is no way Nick can know that the giant guy is responsible for the tainted cologne and has come to the frat house to see if his formula succeeded in shrinking any of the jocks to teeny-tiny status.
