You slip away slowly before a brazen soldier slam into you. He stops for a moment and looks at you, tiny slits for eyes covered by a plate helmet. But unlike a plated knight, his lower armor is a complete set of scale mail with nothing but leather boots on his feet. A war hammer and a sword hang from his hands, the unusual combo startling you as he looks down at you with a tilted head. He was a mercenary from a fair away place, a strange people who claimed to be able to slaughter dragons without an ounce of magic. Though his armor seemed perfectly resistant to fire except his boots, you did not see how he planned on surviving a bite, claw or point blank blast from the flame as you knew was bound to happen in these close quarters. Then again, it could be that he planned on Not being hit by anything other than fire. A large shield hung on his back as you stammer to your feet and he glares at you for the moment.

"If ya wanna git out alive, getcha ass out of mine way," The inconsistent gait of his speech indicating he was from the mountain lands of Bredal Desert. He finally looked behind you and cuffed you out of his way. You feel the metal gauntlet hit your face and send you literally flying as the man ran ahead. You suddenly hear a roar as one of the two dragons attack the flank you had been intending to run away on. The mercenary charges head long into the battle as the soldiers get slaughtered mercilessly by the swipes of the dragon. You watch astounded as the mercenary in his light armor jumps clean over the claws and smashes the butt of the war hammer straight into the dragon's shoulder, stunning it. It was a horrible sight as the man quickly moved from the body as the dragon attempted to right itself, unable to focus with the the mercenary caused.

You then realize you are bleeding as you watch, blood drifting down your head. The mercenary looks back at you as your vision blurs, continuing to dodge the blows. you try to crawl as the mercenary goes froward towards the next piece of action.

You have the following choices:

1. You manage to hide

*Noteb*
2. Attempt to help the dragons

*Noteb*
3. It's A flesh wound, you run

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
