So after completing the few errands I needed to do that day like doing some shopping and sending away some mail. I came home eagerly awaiting to see how tomorrow would go, still in a jovial mood from the fact that I had made it far enough that we were going on a date. I'm pretty sure the maid gave me a puzzled look as to why I was smirking like an idiot while I was eating dinner.
Today's the day, my date with Julie was nearly upon me. I'll admit, I was nervous as hell much like I was yesterday while I was speaking to her, but I did calm myself down a little via a small chocolate bar.
I showered and washed because duh, I gotta be clean,. For my clothes I decided to grab a beige tee, not too loud and obnoxious and a simple pair of jeans. Because we were having lunch at Polyburger, which isn't well known for it's sophisticated menu or decor, I thought something not too formal would be fine.
Once I was fully dressed and ready, I jolted out the door to make way for the restaurant even if I was going to be 15 minutes early. Knowing my luck, something bad would happen if I left with less time to get there.
When I arrived at Polyburger I noticed that it was fairly quiet, only a handful of people were digging in to their food. Speaking of, that was the first feeling to hit me as I entered was the smells of burgers on the grill, the bubbling of the fryer, it suddenly made me feel like a hadn't eaten in weeks, my stomach growling with demand
Making my way through the aisle, I spotted a familiar, freckled face...
"Hi Conrad!" Julie called out while coming towards me. "It's great you made it."
Seeing Julie was making my 'I'll be fiiiine.' mentality walk out the door as I could feel myself becoming nervous again. She was wearing a violet t-shirt that was doing a very good job at pronouncing her large boobs, which looked rather constricted in there. She was also clad in some khaki shorts, thankfully we were on the same page about clothing, so we didn't need to worry about the other being decked out in ties or buttoned white shirts.
"Uh... yeah. Thanks again for... you know..." Well great going Conrad. Way to sound like a complete moron.
Julie just continued smiling. "Oh it's my pleasure! I have the day off, so It's not like I had anything else to do. Anyway come with me."
Confused, I followed Julie's lead as she marched all the way to the back of Polyburger , going through a door that read 'EMPLOYEES ONLY' "Julie I can't go in there." I urged her but to no avail.
"Don't worry, you're with me. The guys won't mind if take my date to the break room." To have her refer to me as her date was still very surreal to me despite the fact we were on a date.
As we entered, we were greeted to a decently sized room with a few fold-up chairs strewn about with two tables and a old looking radio. A couple of torn Polyburger posters hung on the walls.
I scratched my head when I asked "What's with the radio?"
"A few of the other workers wanted a TV for the break room, but management deemed it too distracting. The radio barely works so it's kind of a waste." She replied with a shrug.
I took a seat on one of the fold-up chairs. Not exactly comfortable but it would do.
"I'll grab us some lunch. I'll be back in a flash!" Julie said with a wink.
Well this isn't how I pictured my date starting. But I had to admit having our own little space away from the other patrons was pretty nice. Hopefully I can just stop stammering like a fool.
After a few minutes, Julie came back with our food which...
