As they loaded the dishwasher, Greg remarked in a casual tone, "Putting on a few, son? Maybe the family growth spurt is about to hit."

Junior replied in a happy voice, "Sure am, Dad. I'm just suddenly hungry all the time."

"Well, that's good," said Greg, trying to be encouraging. "Is mom giving you enough for lunch?"

"Yeah, well," Junior began, "I've been spending some of my allowance on lunch. Yesterday I ate my lunch between classes so at lunchtime me and the guys went down to the pizza buffet and I ate...
