Decide you don't want to risk ending marrie...

As you watch her ass disappear under the waves with her tail leaving only ripples on the surface. You smile, telling yourself you are only here for a good time not a long time. You open the gate. As soon as you do that she re-surfaces and invites you into the water with a wave. The smile on her face is wide and genuine.

You sit on the edge of the pool, and look at the ugly medallion. You slip it over your head and as soon at it hits your shoulders you feel the magic going to work.

Alzena watches fascinated as the magic transforms you. She sits perched on a small rock near the entrance to the cave.

It might be the thought of not wanting to be bonded to Alzena. But you regret the decision almost immediately, as your pulse pounds in your ears and you find it difficult to breathe.... With scrabbling fingers you manage to grab it and toss it away, behind you.

But the changes continue as you watch your skin take on an unhealthy colour, a mix of pale blue and green. When you go to grab the medallion then you realise that your legs have joined together giving you, your own tail. The scales flicker iridescent colours in the flickering light.

As you look over your shoulder to the medallion it has never looked further away, just ten feet or so. But you rub your hands over your neck, you feel gills ripple beneath your touch. Breathing becomes easier, and you feel your panic receding. Perhaps it is safest there.

With a giggle Alzena says, "You were serious about not wanting to bond with me weren't you..."
