The Time detector

The TARDIS materialized in alleyway next to a door with graffiti all over it. The Doctor and Rose step out of the TARDIS and shut the door.
Rose:So where too?
The Doctor got out a small black device with a green line on the screen.
Doctor:Wherever this points.
Rose:So what is it?
Doctor:It's called a time detector. The green line acts like a compass pointing in direction of whatever you put in to it.
Rose:So why not just call it a compass?
Doctor:Because Time detector sounds cooler.
Rose:So it can find anything you tell it too?
Doctor:Yep as long as it exists in the era of time you're in if it doesn't then it will display what the exact year, month and day the thing you're looking for is in.
