Restlessness!

The room goes dark as Jane goes to bed. You decide at first to try to get some sleep, but it's no use. The events of the evening have you worked up and it's just not going to happen. Anyways, there is nothing soft or comfortable on the desk to lie down on. As time passes, you get board and decide to go and explore. You go to the edge of the desk. It has a wood top with metal polls as the legs. The legs cannot be climbed by hand you think, but there is a string tied to one of the legs about two inches below you. At your current stature this string is probably closer to 12-15 feet below. The jump to the string looks risky, but it doesn't look impossible.

1. Try to jump for the string
