Dr. Fatts says, "Well some have gained as little as 40 pounds. Others have gained a great deal more."

Eric asks, "Whats a great deal more? 100... 200... What?"

"One of our subjects gained 400 pounds in a year." Ms. Fatts says with a wide grin on her face.

"Wow! 400. That is a lot." Eric says shaking his head.

Ms. Katts assures him that it is rare as they have found so far. Eric aggrees to start the experiment with Ms. Fatts telling him he shouldn't gain more than 100 pounds. Eric thinking how to explain the gain to the Navy, but this is too tempting and Ms. Fatts also told him they will pay for all the food he can eat and recieve 500 dollars a week.

Eric signs the last paper and a nurse walks in with a tray. On the tray two large needles. One light pink and the other light blue. Ms Fatts says, "You must pick one or the other. IT is part of the experiment. I can't tell you what either of the needles will do other than make you gain weight."
