Link gasped as he watched the remaining berries on the ground swell up in size. He looked down at himself and watched in horror as his belly rapidly began to swell in size as well. At first, he could only watch as his stomach grew more and more spherical and within moments Link looked like he'd swallowed a large ball. With one shaking finger, he touched it and heard a sloshing noise. "What's happening to me?!" he belted out, "It's like I'm filling up with juice!"
As if in response, he saw his hands change color, turning pink and then red just like the berries on the ground. He felt pressure under his skin as his arms and legs swelled in size along with his now gigantic belly. Link tried to run, but he could manage little more than a waddle and he could hear the juice inside of him churning about as he tried to run away. He glanced at his reflection in the water and saw that his clothing was tearing at the seams. Soon his belt gave way with a tremendous snap. Link tried to run faster, thinking that maybe he could find help if he could only escape this place, but he suddenly lost his balance and tipped over. He glanced at his reflection again and saw that his belly alone was not growing - his entire body was surging into a massive sphere. He could do nothing more but watch and wait and pray that his growth would stop soon. As he felt pressure building under his skin and a slight tingling pain as his skin grew tighter, he felt a fear in the back of his mind that he might keep growing until he exploded from the pressure of the juice inside of him.
As the pressure began to build and Link felt his skin reach his limit, his sausage-like limbs finally engulfed by his stretching body, he closed his eyes and thought of the irony of how the great Hero of Time would fall to such a simple fate. He defeated Ganondorf for this?
But as he pondered his fate, he realized that the pressure had finally stopped increasing. He opened his eyes and could just barely make out the torn clothing on the ground. His body was a soft red, completely taut with juice, and had a slight shine from the small glimmers of sunlight. He tried to touch himself, but his hands were nearly impossible to move. He turned his head to the lake and saw that he was no nothing more than a gigantic berry with a head.
Around him, he could hear the laughter of children...the Skull Kids perhaps? "Hey, come out of there!" Link called out.
As the Skull Kids walked out of the forest, Link glared at them, but he was completely helpless. He jerked around, trying to move his massive body, but found himself completely immobile. The Skull Kids snickered as they circled around him.
"So big and round!"
"So bright and red!"
"So juicy and soft!"
The Skull Kids started to jab him with their flutes, which at first gave Link pause as he felt enormous discomfort and feared again that he could be popped, but this fear subsided because as hard as they poked him, his skin did not give way. He guessed that as full as he was with juice, his skin must be incredibly thick to contain him.
"What did you do to me?" Link asked.
"Silly Hylians," said one of the identical Skull Kids, "You're so easy to trick."
"And a Hylian as fat as you were," said another one, jabbing a finger into Link's belly-button and causing him to yelp, "couldn't give up the lure of the Debu berries."
"Hey, I wasn't that fat!" Link said, feeling even more concious about his size. The Skull Kids obviously wouldn't try to save him from this fate, and what was he going to do? There was a great festival to be held. Zelda of all people would be there. If she saw him like this, an immobile ball of juice and flesh...
"Change me back!" Link protested, "I can't stay like this forever!"
"But can you?" asked one of the other Skull Kids.
The Skull Kids burst out into laughter, then scattered as a pair of footsteps entered the clearing. Link swallowed. As badly as he needed help, he also didn't want anyone to see him like this. And as he laid eyes on the female form that now crossed into his sight, he felt like he would have preferred never being found.
