Nothing seems out of the ordanary as you slowly descend the staircase near your bedroom door, yet you cannot help shake a sense of unease around you. The sinister air grows deeper with each step and you find yourself increasing your speed. The staircase seems longer than usual and you soon break into a run to reach it's bottom in time. It seems very much as if the stairs are growing in an attempt to halt your movement, and you are happy to finally reach the bottom. It seems silly to have grown so disturbed for no real reason, much less to sprint downstairs, but at the very least you were not seen. At least you thought that you had not been seen, until a slight blue light flickers in the corner of your right eye. Spinning about you once more find that nothing is unusual, though the sinister aura has grown far stronger. At this point you decide that going to be would be a good option to calm your nerves, but first you decide to stop by the kitchen for a quick snack. You nearly let out a scream as you reach the kitchen and come face to face with a figure. Fortunatly you realize that it is none other than your girlfriend and regain your composure.
"What are you doing here so late?" You try to hide the surprise in your voice but you doubt she will overlook having scared you. However she does not seem to acknowledge you and simply stares forward. After a few moments you notice tears running from her eyes. "It hurts... please stop it, please stop it!" To your horror gashes in her clothing begin to manifest. "Please stop it!" With no sign of cause or effect Sally then vanishes. At this time no desire for food or sleep remains, and you turn to run for the door. Once again the blue light flashes in your eye and you can feel an unspeakable presence descending upon you. There is a second flash, and with that you awaken.
The sun is already shining brightly by the time you sit up in bed, the last traces of the nightmare slipping from your mind, fortunatly it is your day off from work. After the terrible dream you barely notice the small cat on your shelf, Sally's gift to you, is now sitting at the front of it's row. In a better mindset you might have recalled having placed it much further back the night before, but it was not possible at this point. With a last yawn you roll from the bed and decide to get ready for the day ahead.
